About Lenaya

To Nourish & Nurture!

Lenaya trained as both a birth and postpartum doula with Doula Trainings International, where she served as the Bay Area DTI Ambassador for the first year of it’s program, helping to build a strong and supportive doula community in San Francisco.  She believes that all birthing people deserve access to loving support during birth and the transition into parenthood.  When she is able to she likes to volunteer her services with a wonderful organization: Pro Bono Doula Services of Marin.

She has a background in biology, ecology, health supportive cooking, and herbal medicine making; and she has practiced many modalities of self reflection and personal transformation.  The unique knowledge set that she brings with her is steeped in education, compassion, intuition, and healing.

Her personal growth and development has always been marked by the recognition that to support others, one must first support themselves.  Being called to environmental activism, art, personal transformation, the sacred feminine and motherhood has humbled her time and time again.  We are stronger in community.  We need to be seen, acknowledged, nurtured and nourished in order to be our strongest fullest selves.  Never have these lessons meant more to her than with the birth of her daughter.  A rite of passage indeed, becoming a parent is no small feat and perhaps surprisingly one of the most empowering things we can do, is to get help and practice self care, so that we can work, live, partner and parent from a strong foundation.
